Ruined my night with my daughter

PC Richards installed a Viper Car Starter in my BMW X5 2004 only after being assured that it would'nt cause an issue for my vehicle. This was last night at 4:35 pm.

I picked up my car, thanked the techs and went to my 5:15 meeting 6.3 miles up the street. I returned to my car approx 6:45 and drove about a mile before my car would not go above 10 MPH. I immediatly pulled over and checked all the fluid levels in my car (all fine as I just had the tune up done less then 3K miles ago.) I turned on the car again and the vehicle would not go above 10. I pulled into a gas station and immeditaly called a tow truck.

(7:15pm) the tow finally arrived at 12:35am and we had it put in my mechanics lot. I called BMW this morning to report the problem, called my mechanic to let him now, and also called another person just for another opinion.

They all came to the same conclusion, it was the car starter, and some how it was interferring with the transmission (using the wrong power supply.) I called PC Richards, and have pretty much been fed a run around (its not 3:15pm) and have been told, theres no way I installed it wrong (the tech.) I have contacted my lawyer and will be suing them. The most important thing in the world to me I can only have access to twice a week (my daughter) was stopped because of this incompetence.

Dear P.C. Richard & Son Customers,

We regret that a serious pricing error was made in our newspaper ads.

We advertised a 32” Toshiba model # 32DT2U at $399.97 and a 42” Sharp model # LC42SV49UN at $258.97. Unfortunately, these prices were transposed in error. The Toshiba should have been priced at $258.97 and the Sharp should have a sale price of $399.97.

The regular prices and the savings are correctly printed in the ad, but regrettably, the sale prices are incorrect.

Our Customers are the most important part of our company. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused our customers. We always strive to provide a wonderful shopping experience and to provide the best value for the goods and services we sell. This error was unintentional. We have taken steps to prevent an error such as this from happening again.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

PC Richards manager was very rude, lied and insulted me

I bought a GPS from PC Richards and it broke during the warranty period so I sent it back for repair. After 3 months of waiting I was told that it could not be fixed, and the salesman said I needed the original box in order to ship it back to the manufacturer. Obviously, i did not have the box. The store manager told me I had to take the GPS and leave. When I refused he walked out of the store with my GPS and threw it in the trash can on the sidewalk, and then told me he was going to call the police. The salesman threatened to file a police report. This was very rude and totally uncalled for since I didn't say or do anything offensive. The next day I called to complain to PC Richards' District manager, who did nothing but side with the salesman. The store manager and salesman lied by telling the District manager that I was abusive in the store. That was a total Fabrication and was complete and utter ***. PC Richards should change their name to No PC Richards, because I will NEVER shop there again and I will tell everybody I know how PC Richards mistreat their customer. Not only did they lose a loyal customer over a $100 GPS, they also lose their credibility as a business for treating a customer in the worst manner.

Pc richards

the worst customer satisfaction EVER is the Babylon store. They installed a Viper car starter in my 2110 pathfinder. Now been in Nissan for a week. The valve control unit been replaced 3 times. BC of a tech installed my car starter the wrong way. Now PC Richards is NOT going to take blame. My starter is out of truck, and they refuse to give money back. So I'm going to take sum action. Bottom line DONT trust PC at ALL...! So all you people out there PC does not go by their word at all. My lawyer will be contacted

PC Richards repair caused damage to new Elextrolux refrigerator

Purchased a new Electrolux Refrigerator from PC Richards and it immediately was making a very loud noise. After 5 attempts on their part to come fix it, the repair was made on the sixth appointment. The next morning there was an strong burning electrical smell coming from the refrigerator that had contaminated all the food inside and the entire house. Immediately pulled the plug on the refrigerator and called PC Richards. After many phone calls PC Richards is replacing the (4 week old) refrigerator and giving me a $200 credit for the bad food as an accommodation for almost burning down my house with their bad repair. I was told I could pursue any further compensation with Electrolux, even though PC Richards is the one that made the faulty repair.

Destroyed TV BEZZLE AFTER REPAIR

My samsung LN A850 LCD tv had two dead pixels and I called PC Richard for service under my extended warranty. PC Richard sent a crew to pick up tv from my apartment, before I released the tv, I requested the crew make a notation on my receipt that there were not damage to tv.

One week later the tv was returned to me in working condition. One big problem, they had destroyed the bezzle of my touch of color. I am having problems with the service department for them to repair or replace my tv. I will never buy from that company now or in the future.

Not reliable.

Nasty customer service.

The comment by Jonathan is both inaccurate and slanderous. P.C.

Richard has a great relationship with all its vendors while enjoying unparalleled financial strength.

P.C. Richard employs its very own factory authorized appliance and electronics technicians as well as utilizing manufacturers'authorized service provided by third parties.

PC Richards is having serious cash flow problems!!! Almost all of their vendors have not been paid!!!

So, they try to find new vendors for services who will extend credit to them!! Not working, their reputation has gotten the best of them.

Also, other than TV's and vacuum's, Sears does all their service!!1 NEVER BUY FROM PC RICHARDS!!!

Sears does stand behind their work!!! and does give a full refund if under an extended warranty!!

Rip Off!!!!

I bought a Samsung flat screen tv from PC Richards in Newington, CT. The sales person was very pushy trying to get us to buy the floor model tv (which by the way was not turned on) and said it looked exactly like one of the models they had hanging on their wall. Well needless to say, when I got it home, the tv has a horrible picture quality as well as a drag in the picture. Seeing that it is a floor model, I was told I am not able to return it. I was at least smart enough to buy the warranty and I will be calling them to repair this tv. Needless to say, I will never buy another product from them again. Apparently since they work off commissions, they don't care what type of product they sell, as long as they sell it!

Rude Salesman Lost Sale

Went into the Wayne NJ store to purchase a TV . Salesman was very rude and inflexible with price and negotiation. Don't they understand if you come into the store it's to negotiate - if I want to pay list price I can buy online - and get free shipping.. After a heated exchange with THE salesman - we left the store , and went to Electronics Expo next door.. Made my purchase in 10 minutes at Electronics Expo.. PC Richard should be more competitive, especially knowing their competition is right next door! This company may be 100 yrs old - the need to know how to compete in a retail environment which offers many different consumer channels .

PC Richards has the worst customer service.

I purchased a refrigerator from PC Richards. When it was delivered I was very disappointed in the product. I called them and told them what happened. They said it would be picked up. They never came. I called again and asked them to please pick up the refrigerator. The girl who answered the phone at their Lake Grove, NY store was so rude and nasty. I had ordered another refrigerator from LOWES. It was delivered and I now had 2 refrigerators in my kitchen. I once again called and asked them to please pick up the *** refrigerator. Once again I called and spoke to another nasty rude girl in customer service. She told it would be in their terms. After a week they finally came. I am now doing my kitchen over and I will never buy another appliance from PC Richards.

PC Richard - Deceptive Sales Practice/Return Policy

Be careful when purchasing from them. My experience was that the sales rep witheld information about this product, after I specifically asked about the performance of this unit. Then, he claimed that the return/exchange policy was explained to me(Once his boss showed up). Clearly I would have moved more slowly had I known I could not return the appliance.

I recently purchased an AMANA 14,000 BTU Portable Air-Conditioner. I wanted a unit that would cool a basement room/low ceiling, 320SqFt Room(Approx). Since I have a couple of window units in other parts of the house, ... 8,000 & 10,000 BTU ... in slightly smaller rooms, I figured that a 14,000 BTU should do the trick. He assured me it would be more than adequate, after I drilled him for 20 minutes or so. Unfortunately, I seem to have missed a few questions, and he didn't offer any other information to help make the purchase. I even sprung for the 3 year extended warrantee. Total of $659.

I left the unit on for 7 days straight and the lowest daytime temperature in the room was 73 degrees next to the air-conditioner, and 79 degrees on the other side of the room. I added a small fan to circulate the air better, and it did even out a bit (Daytime temperature outside was in the low 90's.). Remember, this is a basement, which is typically cooler as it is.

I went back to PC Richard the next Saturday, and the sales rep now informs me that in fact, these portable air-conditioners are not as efficient as the window unit. SO ... as a test ... I brought the new AMANA upstairs and hooked it up. It did not work as well as my smaller 8000 BTU Window unit.

SO ... I packed the unit up and brought it back. The sales rep then informes me that they do not accept returns on Air-conditioners. Only "Replacement". He even had the balls to tell me that I asked that question and he told me the return policy 2 weeks earlier when I bought it. Had I been told I could not return it, I would not have purchased the thing and done some online research in advance. They wanted me to take another Air-contitioner. Replacement only is their policy. Since the room I needed it for could not accept a window air-conditioner, and I was not going to get another portable unit, we were at an impass.

The hang up was that I now had the unit for 16 days, and it as too long to return it. I might of had better lusk if I had boxed it up a week earlier instead of testing it out on the first floor. After a small battle, I ended up with store credit.

If you are going to shop at PC Richard ... DO NOT make an "Impulse buy".

I need a dishwasher anyhow, but once this store credit is used up, I'm done with PC Richard.

I purchased a refrigerator from PC Richard and I have had issues with the Icemaker . it took Samsung four months and five technicians to finally label the refrigerator "unrepairable" they gave me a ticket number so that I may return The refrigerator to PC Richards.

The manager from PC Richard informed me that the refrigerator I purchased was discontinued and that I would have to purchase a refrigerator for the same price or more anything less I would lose the remaining money.

Today I am going to PC Richards to try to find a refrigerator weather is less or more money but I will guarantee you that I will not lose the remaining money. We must get on the Better Business Bureau site and complain about their practice also on twitter and Facebook they have sites that we can complain on and maybe they'll get the head out of their assess and do what's right with their customers.

Items for which you have a gift receipt can only be returned for store credit. Which begs the question - what's the point of the gift receipt?

Guest

I too am appalled by KEYSTONE. THEY ARE COMPLETLY RUDE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

We needed washing machine fixed - they came to repair it, when repair left it was making strange sound he said it was nothing, of course it did not work. pc rICHARDS CAME DOWN AND FOUND HE NEVER RECONNECTED THE WASHER.

However washer still not fixed. Keystone Repair man showed up yesterday and was so rude and left when asked a question, he never even looked at machine.

I have bought form PC richards for years but this maybe the end of our relationship.

Great! I purchased an eBook reader from this store online..it will not connect to the wifi=useless.. I guess I can expect the worst!?

I just recently came back and saw the various responses, and have a few additional comments/responses..

To ade04 ... I have found the reciept, and it does not have the wording you refer too. The unit checked out fine, and was resold as an "Open Box" unit.

To PCRichardSon ... I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. My problem was with the Sales Rep witholding information. I went back 3 times in a 24 hour period to ask more questions. I did have a list of over 20 specific questions, which should have given him a clue that I was serious about a purchase. His "Flipant" responses 7 days later, when I went back really pissed me off. Like I was somehow to blame for not asking the right questions. BUT ... as I reminded him, and I have in my notes ... "What are the Pro's and Cons of window units, Portable units, and split units". He did not provide me with a complete picture, and left out several major negative factors of the Portable units, including lower efficiency and being an energy hog. His response ... I should have read the manual and specifications. laughable, because they were in the box. He did not make them available or suggest that in my first 3 meetings.

I ended up buying a $2500 split unit sustem somewhere else. Had he provided me with honest truthfull answers, I would have purchased a split unit right from the beginning and PC Richard would have had that sale.

Like I said initially ... "Do not make an impulse buy at PC Richard. Do all your research well in advance". Had I not relied on the sales rep, and did more reading on my own, I would not have followed his advice.

Consumers go into your stores, looking for enolugh information to make an nformed decision. BUT, by witholding important information, they are just as guilty as flat out lying about the products they sell.

Bought a laptop week ago.It has a problem of crashing intermitently went to return to PC richards, after a onhour of a battel they gave not refund just store credits. No one should ever step into there store.

My complaint is with the private contractors used by PC Richards to service items under warranty. Particularly the company KEYSTONE APPLIANCE provided the most unprofessional and poor service I have ever seen.

Upon bringing the incorrect part to fix my dryer the service man then blamed my wife breaking it in the first place and said to her "I don't know what the *** you did to it to break it like this." The serviceman then also responded to a question about mold growing in the gasket of the wash by calling our washing machine "freakin gross." I immediately called PC Richards to make them aware of Keystone's performance. They were very apologetic but NOT surprised. PC Richard is coming to fix it personally next week.

It sounds like they get this complaint all the time. I my say to PC Richards that if they continue to do business with Keystone Appliance I cannot purchase any more appliances from their otherwise good store.

I bought a 12,000 btu portable ac , Frigidaire that didn't cool my studio enough. John in Hanover PC Richard exchanged it for the 14,000 btu ac and area of 15 X 20 cooled fine.

I knew I couldn't get my money back as stated on my receipt, "non returnable and not sold on a trial basis.

Unit must be sealed and/or in it's original carton for a refund with in 20 days." Maybe all you needed was a replacement and the first unit was probably a lemon. It seems like that was a reasonable option.

NOT HAPPY. I purchased a Stove and matching microwave from scratch and dent department.

Scratch and dent is one thing. It must have been installed in someone else's house.

In the warehouse it looked brand new. The first night I used the oven the temperature shot up past 350, the house smoke alarm went off and the unit immediately shut off. I tried to turn it back on but got a message on the dashboard 'Function Not Available'. WHAT?

My husband reset the stove to turn on the oven and "Function Not Available" came on again. I am returning this stove; don't want it repaired as apparently I have a used lemon.

I certainly apologize for the inconvenience of having an issue with your new stove. However, because something has a defective part, does not mean it is used.

Unfortunately, nothing mass produced is perfect. We do stand behind your purchase and can either service the range or replace it if that is not satisfactory.

Please let us know. by calling 631 777 **** and asking for a supervisor or emailing me at rickg@***.com

Sold a lemon dishwasher

Bought a floor model dishwasher from pc Richards in 2007 and was told it was from the previous year, not long after, the motor went..called fisher paykel and when I gave them serial number, they informed me the washer was 7 years old, they sent factory auth repair to fix the motor. Then few months later the electronic button controls stopped working, aging factory repair had to be called. Both times had to Pay for service call. Then over the next year called pc Richards repair numerous times for problems with this dishwasher..still can't get problem fixed and they refuse to do anything for us and it has cost us in service calls..they should realize they sold a lemon and rep,ace it.... But they don't want to hear about the problem...

P C Richards warrantee

I read all of the complaints on this site about the extended warrantee issues with P C Richards. I had a microwave oven that started smoking after six months and had the two year replacement warrantee for an extra twenty dollars. So I called the P C Richards repair number and it was answered on the second ring. After explaining my problem I was transfered to a store near me. The person that I talked with at the store assured me that they would exchange it if I brought it in. I did. The only problem that I encountered was the store sold their last microwave before I got their. They called another store and reserved one for me to pick up. They completed the paper work and I went to pick up the reserved microwave. At the other store they had to retain the box that the replacement came in as I did not have the original box after six months. I asked to buy the replacement warrantee on the replacement microwave and was told that I did not need to as the coverage would follow the replacement because was within the first year. This was great service and I will buy from P C Richard again

I shopped around for the lowest prices on 4 major appliances. I contacted a salesman I have used for prior purchases for a price match, but he couldn't. Despite this, I decided to pay a little more to give him my sale. I called 4 times over a 2 day period to place the order. The first 3 times, he ignored my messages. The last time, he picked up the phone and said he would call me back. He didn't. I purchased elsewhere and suggest you do the same. Their "Nobody Beats our Guaranteed Lowest Prices" claim is a joke.
